Friends of Moorfields

Volunteer in Friends shop

The Friends of Moorfields is justifiably well known for its network of volunteers. For our day-by-day service in support of the work of the hospital we are always looking to recruit newcomers. The office is always delighted to hear from anyone interested in offering help in this way. No previous experience is necessary; full training will be given. Initially contact the Friends' office for a "no obligation chat."

We provide a range of services to support the work of the hospital – including the purchase of clinical equipment – and manage a team of volunteers. Fundraising, membership subscriptions, donations and legacies, together with profit from the Friends of Moorfields shop, fund our services.

If you would like to volunteer or support Moorfields Eye Hospital you can view for more information about volunteering. We are always looking to recruit new people. Our team of volunteers, who work from a couple of hours occasionally up to two days a week, help in the shop, run a twice-daily trolley service to wards and clinics; work on the information desks, help patients with directions and work alongside clinic clerks. Others collect in stations or organise monthly fundraising events and sales.
