Moorfields Magazine winter 2021 issue out now

The latest edition of Moorfields Magazine is out now, featuring Moorfields’ medical retina services and an in-depth interview with our new chief executive, Martin Kuper, on what he’s learned so far and his aspirations.

Find out about our ground-breaking breakthrough in developing an artificial intelligence (AI) tool for the use of measuring geographic atrophy (GA), how we’re investigating AI for detecting diabetic eye disease, go behind the scenes to meet our Bedford team, and spend a day in the life of a Croydon medical retina consultant.

Supporting patients with sight problems

We showcase how we support people going through sight loss with a feature on our low vision assessment (LVA) clinic, and provide a look at volunteering at Moorfields with interviews from two of our volunteers through the Friends of Moorfields, June Webb and Amal Nur. We also include interviews with Dhanes Thomas, our new clinical director for Oriel, and Vineet Bhalla, one of our newer non-executive directors.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, only a limited printed quantity of this issue of Moorfields Magazine will be made available. The magazine can be accessed using the links below, in an interactive PDF or a plain text format that is accessible to screen readers. The interactive PDF also includes links for more information.
