Children’s Eye Centre opens its doors for Open House London 2014

The award-winning children’s eye centre at Moorfields Eye Hospital is opening its doors for Open House London Weekend, the capital’s greatest architectural showcase, on Sunday 21 September 2014.

Tours of centre will be led by architects from Penoyre and Prasad, the practice that designed the building, providing a real insight into the building’s design.

The Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre at Moorfields is a dedicated treatment centre for children’s eye conditions.  It demonstrates how innovative design and architecture has its own role to play in making hospitals welcoming places as it combines functional excellence with an award winning and non-institutional design.

Tours will take place every 30 minutes between 11am and 1pm on Sunday 21 September only on a first-come, first-served basis, with last entry at 12.30pm.  Entry to the children’s centre is via Peerless Street, EC1V 9EZ. All public areas of the centre will be accessible, including waiting rooms and reception areas.
