Junior doctors: industrial action update

Following a national ballot, junior doctors have decided to take industrial action on Wednesday 10 February 2016.

We have detailed plans in place to manage any impact that this will have on our services and to ensure that patient safety is maintained throughout this period.

We expect to be running a normal A&E service and patients in need of urgent and emergency care will continue to receive the treatment they need. However, we advise people to avoid coming to our A&E unless it is an emergency and to use other available services such as local GP practices, walk-in centres or pharmacies for advice and treatment in non-urgent cases.
