Moorfields hosts three conferences

On Friday 11 March, Moorfields Eye Hospital in London hosted conferences for its alumni and nursing staff and Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai held an event especially for paediatric ophthalmic clinicians.

The Paediatric Symposium in Dubai event covered specialty areas such as paediatric retinal diseases, treatment of retinopathy and uveitis and included a session on how to assess a child with reduced vision. More than 70 nurses, optometrists, orthoptists and consultants attended from across the United Arab Emirates.

More than 150 ophthalmic nurses and technicians attended this year's nursing conference at Islington Town Hall. With the theme "leaders in healthcare”, the event included a discussion on outstanding leadership qualities, what makes an outstanding hospital and feedback on Moorfields' nursing strategy.

The alumni day was a one-day conference open to all current and former members of Moorfields’ clinical staff, presenting an opportunity to hear about the  latest developments in research and clinical practice in ophthalmology.
