Moorfields’ Stars celebrates outstanding staff

Staff and volunteers from across the trust came together with governors, non-executive directors and representatives of Moorfields Eye Charity and Friends of Moorfields on 28 September to celebrate the Moorfields’ Stars of 2019 and 2022.

It was a celebration of the excellent work that goes on every day at Moorfields, and it was an occasion to remember.

It was also two ceremonies in one, as the 2019 awards event in March 2020 had to be deferred because of the onset of the pandemic.

585 nominations were submitted, 322 from patients, both unprecedented numbers, as staff and patients showed their appreciation of the many teams and individuals who have shone above and beyond expectations during the past three years.

Many nominations covered the personal support given to patients during the difficult lockdown periods and the additional efforts put in to help us catch up on the resulting backlog. This short new video serves as a reminder of our achievements during this period and captures the thoughts of both nominees and patients.

This event would not have been possible without the generous support of Moorfields Eye Charity.
